Transcribing Audio

Turn any video or audio file into a transcript with word-level timing.

MagiaCap converts speech to text with high accuracy and word-level timestamps — the timestamps are what make caption timing exact.

Start a Transcription

  1. 1Open a project or create one by dropping a file onto the Transcribe side of the dashboard.
  2. 2Pick a transcription provider in the toolbar (Groq, OpenAI, ElevenLabs, or Local).
  3. 3MagiaCap transcribes automatically. Progress shows in the toolbar; results appear as timestamped segments.
  4. 4Edit any segment inline. Right-click a project on the dashboard to re-transcribe at any time.
Providers that return word timestamps (Groq, OpenAI) give the most accurate caption timing. Linear interpolation without word times drifts by ~0.2s.
