Troubleshooting: Caption Timing
Fix captions that drift from the audio, or look too short.
Caption timing comes from word-level timestamps. If clips drift, the most common cause is a provider without word times.
Timing Is Off
Switch to Groq or OpenAI — both return word timestamps for exact timing. Heavily rewritten captions lose their source timing — regenerate from the transcript to restore it.
Captions Too Short
The minimum clip duration is 0.6 seconds by design — very short lines are clamped to stay readable.
After Heavy Editing
If timing drifts after lots of edits, regenerate the captions to re-sync everything to the transcript.
After changing providers or editing a lot, regenerate captions to re-sync timing with the transcript.
